Würth knows no crisis

Würth Austria is getting through the second year of the pandemic with record results. In addition to direct sales, Würth's largest and most important sales channel, the 64 Würth shops also make a significant contribution to the company's success. With sales of 73 million euros, they generate 27 percent of the total result. Seven new Würth shops are planned for commercial customers throughout Austria in the course of 2022. The locations in Ybbs/Bergland, Mistelbach, Völkermarkt, Linz/Traun and Radstadt have already been determined. The eBusiness division is also developing very positively. Online sales already make up 15 percent of total sales. For 2022, Würth Austria is aiming for healthy growth in sales and earnings.
Overall, with record sales of 267.5 million euros, the previous year's result (in 2020 it was 223.7 million euros) was exceeded by almost 20 percent in the second year of the pandemic.
"The order books of our customers in the various industries are well filled. Despite the difficult procurement market, we were able to supply our customers well. Of course, we also had to accept significant price increases from our suppliers and pass them on to the market to a large extent," explains Managing Director Alfred Wurmbrand.
The fortification specialist Würth Austria, based in Böheimkirchen, is helping people affected by the war in Ukraine with a donation of 100,000 euros. The company would like to make a contribution to supporting them and expressing its solidarity.
“We express our solidarity with the people who have to flee from this terrible war in order to save their lives and want to make a contribution to alleviating the unspeakable suffering, as far as this is at all possible,” explains Alfred Wurmbrand, spokesman for the management.
By the way, Austria is not an isolated case: the entire Würth Group recorded historic records in the 2021 financial year. According to preliminary consolidated financial statements, the company generated sales of 17.1 billion euros (2020: 14.4 billion euros) - an increase of 18.5 percent, or even 19.0 percent adjusted for currency effects. According to the preliminary consolidated financial statements, the operating result of the Würth Group is also significantly higher than the previous year at 1.2 billion euros (2020: 775 million euros). The strong sales growth and the increase in productivity contributed significantly to the positive result, according to the company.
