VOC-free parts cleaning from Mewa

Efficiency and reliability are what count in industrial parts cleaning. But the health of employees and environmental protection must not be left behind. Mewa therefore offers a VOC-free parts cleaning system, which represents an environmentally friendly and EU directive-compliant alternative with the same cleaning performance. The problem with conventional solvent-based parts cleaners: They often contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which can significantly affect the air quality in production halls and workshops. "Higher concentrations of VOCs irritate eyes and mucous membranes and can cause headaches and dizziness. Corresponding compounds are therefore considered hazardous substances," says Daniel Krause, Senior Product Manager at Mewa. In addition, VOCs increase the risk of fire in the workplace during high temperatures or fires. According to the EU directive, companies are therefore required to limit the use of substances containing VOCs.

Microorganisms help

In contrast to conventional cold cleaners, Mewa's brush washers and high-pressure parts cleaners work with an aqueous cleaning solution in which fats and oils are biologically broken down by natural microorganisms. In this way, the cleaning solution regenerates itself and can be used for significantly longer than chemical solvents. "The liquid is not a hazardous substance and is not harmful to health. This is a plus when it comes to the well-being of employees," emphasizes Krause. The cleaning solution for Mewa devices is even certified according to NSF C1 guidelines. The parts cleaners are therefore also suitable for use in the food processing industry, provided there is no direct contact with food. “The use of our parts cleaners helps to reduce risks in the workplace,” says Daniel Krause.

Efficiency and sustainability

Depending on their needs, customers can choose between Mewa brush washing tables and high-pressure parts cleaners in different sizes. With high-pressure parts cleaners, the effect of the cleaning fluid is increased by a pressure of up to 80 bar and the cleaning temperature is around 40 degrees. Even heavily contaminated parts with angled geometries can be optimally cleaned. “Our devices clean just as effectively as conventional systems, sometimes even better - and without any health risks for the user,” explains Krause. Mewa parts cleaners are offered as an all-round service. This includes commissioning on site, regular maintenance and repairs.
