New marketing management at Liqui Moly

After 39 years, Marketing Manager Peter Baumann will be entering his well-deserved retirement on January 1, 2025. He will be succeeded by Marco Esser, previously deputy marketing manager. On January 1, 1986, Baumann took over the development of the marketing department for the Swabian medium-sized company, which today sells its products in around 150 countries. He received significant support from the then managing director Ernst Prost. With him, Liqui Moly became a global player for engine oils, additives and vehicle care. The lubricating oil specialist's marketing recipe for success was: strong presence as a sponsor and supporter of top global sport. Be it in Formula 1 with Sauber Motorsport in 1993, in the Bundesliga for the first time in 2000 with TSV 1860 Munich, or more than 10 years in MotoGP. Baumann crowned his life's work with his involvement as an “Official Partner” in Formula 1. Successor Marco Esser, previously Head of Corporate Communications at Liqui Moly, is aware that he has big shoes to fill: “Inheriting Mr. Baumann in his role is, on the one hand, a great honor and, on the other, a huge challenge.”
