Berner: Postponed, not repealed

“I work from my home office via Skype – it works very well,” says Bernese sales manager Alfred Rieder, making the best possible out of the current crisis situation. The Berner shops in Braunau, Vösendorf and Graz remain open with slight restrictions, only the branch in Innsbruck was closed due to nationwide regulations. “We are of course also aware of the decline in orders that the workshops are reducing their operations,” says Rieder, “but so far we have been able to maintain our supply chains to the neighboring countries to the east.” If the crisis situation worsens, Berner will not be able to avoid the issue of short-time work. “We are currently preparing for it, but we haven’t decided anything yet,” said Rieder. He is confident about the future: “Once the crisis is over, the economy will certainly pick up again quickly, as a lot of work has only been postponed and not canceled.”
