AVL DiTEST has with practicalCABLE presented a new device for testing charging cables for electric vehicles. “Electromobility brings with it new requirements for safety and testing processes – and this is exactly where practiCABLE comes in,” says Nina Kornsteiner, product manager at AVL DiTEST. “Our goal was to provide a system that is not only technically convincing, but also actively supports the change in workshop practice and testing organizations.”

The new device supports Mode 2 and Mode 3 cables as well as Schuko and CEE plugs and meets relevant standards such as DGUV regulation 3 and EN 50699.
The test is automated using predefined or individually customizable test plans, and results are documented via USB or Bluetooth. The target groups are, in particular, workshops and testing organizations that have to ensure standard-compliant cable testing.
