AVL DiTest breaks the 100 million euro mark
AVL DiTest, manufacturer of diagnostic and measuring devices in the automotive after sales sector, doubled its sales in 2022 and exceeded the 100 million euro mark for the first time in the company's history. 426 employees generated 112.5 million euros last year. The company, headquartered in Austria and with a second branch in Germany, recorded particularly high sales figures in the areas of exhaust gas measurement technology and electromobility. The “Counter” product, a device for measuring particles, was delivered over 12,000 times. Motor vehicle workshops and testing organizations use the counter to check diesel vehicles as part of the annual emissions test. The vehicles only receive the green light if the emissions of fine, harmful particles do not exceed the specified limit. The relevant legislation has already been implemented in some EU countries; in Germany it will come into force in 2023. Austria is expected to follow suit in the coming years.
AVL DiTest began developing this special measuring device in 2015. “Thanks to our meticulous market observation and long-term strategic orientation, we backed the right horse early on,” says Gerald Lackner, CEO of AVL DiTest. “We are proud that we have the entire value chain in-house – from development, including know-how on the measurement process, to production, right up to the calibration of the devices.” In the summer of 2022, AVL DiTest was the first company to successfully complete the complex approval process in Germany. This marked an important milestone and series production could begin. The 12,000 devices made a significant contribution to the record sales of 112.5 million euros. “Without the tireless commitment of everyone in our company, this record turnover would not have been possible,” emphasizes Gerald Lackner. Testing and diagnostic devices for electric vehicles are just as strategically important. With the help of its long-term strategic orientation, AVL DiTest looks forward to the mobility transition. Corresponding hardware and software solutions are being intensively developed and some are already being used in workshops.
