Automechanisa 2024: Continental spare parts
Continental has comprehensively expanded its aftermarket product offering in original equipment quality and presented the highlights at Automechanisa. The technology company added new product groups to its portfolio, such as spare parts for chassis and steering, but also camera and radar sensors and high-pressure gasoline pumps. The product range is supplemented with services for high-quality repairs – such as “Remote Support”, a new digital service offering with which Continental supports workshops with repairs via video chat. New to Continental's aftermarket program are also multifunctional camera modules, long range, ACC and blind spot radars for volume models from Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, Volkswagen and Audi.
“More and more vehicles with driver assistance systems, as well as electric vehicles, are coming into independent workshops, whose customers rightly expect high-quality repairs,” explained Enno Straten, head of the Automotive Aftermarket business segment at Continental. Only those who are prepared and have the right spare parts and qualifications can continue to earn good money in the future. Continental is preparing for the growing market and will gradually include components in its spare parts program from mid-2025. It starts with multifunctional camera modules as well as long-range, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and blind spot radars for volume models from Mercedes, BMW, Nissan, Volkswagen and Audi.
Continental is also significantly expanding its range of mechanical parts and components: In the future, workshops will also be able to order spare parts for wheel bearings and other spare parts for chassis and steering from the Continental brand. The market launch for the three product groups will be staggered starting this year and will be completed by mid-2025. At the same time, Continental is increasing market coverage in the existing product groups. With brake discs and pads from the new ATE New Original product line, the company is breaking new ground: They meet the higher requirements and standards that the change towards electromobility and stricter environmental regulations such as the future Euro 7 regulation bring with it. ATE will start offering brake disc and pad friction pairs for the VW models ID.3 and ID.4, the TESLA Model S, the Cupra Born and the Polestar 2 from spring 2025. ATE New Original complements the ATE Original line, in which Continental has previously offered its entire European portfolio of brake components.
