Scan tire tread with your smartphone
Anyline launches the first mobile tire tread scanner that works with any smartphone.

Scan tire tread with your smartphone
The innovative software solution reliably measures the exact tire tread depth by having users point the camera of a smartphone at the tire tread to be measured. Using modern computer vision and artificial intelligence, a 3D model of each tire profile is created, which serves as the basis for precise, digital measurement. This can be saved and shared as a results report. The software can be integrated into mobile applications as required and opens up completely new possibilities for players beyond the automotive industry: In addition to tire technicians, private individuals can also scan tire profiles without training. Both user groups receive consistent, objective results.
Measuring the tread wear of tires previously required special analog or digital devices with which technicians could record each individual tire groove. This time-consuming and laborious process carries the risk of conflicting measurement results and data entry errors. Not only do tire dealers have to accept financial losses, the safety of drivers is also at risk. “Digitalization has revolutionized safety standards in the automotive industry over the last decade, but tire maintenance remains stubbornly in the analogue age,” says Lukas Kinigadner, CEO and co-founder of Anyline. "The consequences are serious. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), there were over 11,000 accidents on U.S. roads in 2021 as a direct result of tire defects." Anyline replaces outdated manual measurement methods with digital data capture. This simplifies and speeds up the urgently needed tire inspections, while drivers benefit from increased safety.
Founded in Vienna in 2013, Anyline entered the automotive market in 2020 with the launch of a vehicle identification number scanning solution. In collaboration with Discount Tire, a global independent tire and wheel retailer, Anyline has developed software that enables technicians to digitally capture tire data in seconds and with great accuracy. In the future, Anyline aims to apply its mobile measurement technology in other industries. The underlying technology, which allows shapes and distances to be measured with an accuracy of 0.1 millimeters, opens up unlimited possibilities, for example in retail, logistics and healthcare. Anyline's mobile data collection technology is CCPA/GDPR compliant and ensures that all collected data is processed and stored securely. Anyline is not only trusted by well-known brands such as Discount Tire, IBM and PepsiCo, but also by national governments and the United Nations.
