Tire wholesaler Göggel is fit for climate protection
Sustainability plays an important role at Reifen Göggel. Numerous investments in current energy management in recent months have now meant that the logistics center in Gammertingen can be operated in a completely climate-neutral manner. A photovoltaic system with over 20,000 square meters, which is installed on the roofs of the warehouses, delivers an output of 1.2 million kilowatts of electricity per year and reduces CO² emissions by around 1,000 tons. This investment not only covers the warehouse's electricity needs, but more than 40 percent of it can be fed into the existing power grid. Further building blocks for energy savings of over 70% were the purchase of the latest generation of industrial trucks and the conversion of the lighting in all halls to LED as well as a sophisticated, state-of-the-art energy management system. “These measures are worthwhile not only from an ecological but also from an economic point of view,” explains Bruno Göggel, owner of the Swabian tire wholesaler.
