More mileage and traction: Goodyear presents new Ultragrip
Goodyear announces the launch of the UltraGrip Performance+ SUV. This new tire series covers the growing sports utility vehicle (SUV) and crossover market, offering consumers an innovative winter tire that increases the versatility and safety of their vehicles.
The Goodyear UltraGrip Performance+ for cars has already been named test winner by Auto Bild in a comparison test of eleven winter tire brands. The new UltraGrip Performance+ SUV is based on this award-winning product and was developed specifically for the increasingly important SUV market.
Growing market
The market for premium winter tires for SUVs is one of the fastest growing in the tire industry. Drivers who value the versatility of an SUV are looking for tires that meet their needs for safety and good traction. As a result, the market has seen eight percent growth over the last decade.
The SUV segment is also seeing a trend towards larger rims. Sales of tires with rim diameters over 19 inches are expected to grow by 8 percent between 2019 and 2024.
Innovations for the premium segment
The tire trade is increasingly concentrating on these high-quality and high-demand segments. Goodyear has put together a technology package that makes the new UltraGrip Performance+ SUV a market leader. It has 13 percent higher mileage and improved handling in all winter conditions than its predecessor. This was achieved through the following innovative technologies:
- Mileage-Plus-Technology: Die hohe Elastizität der Lauffläche bewirkt weniger Verschleiß, was die Haltbarkeit und die Laufleistung verbessern.

The wide range includes 33 SKUs from 16 to 20 inches. This covers a wide range of SUVs and crossovers, from the compact city segment to large premium off-road vehicles.
