The motorcycle market is defying the crisis and, of all things, is celebrating merry circumstances during the pandemic: sales figures increased significantly in 2020. The tire wholesaler Göggel is also pleased about this.

While new registrations of cars and trucks experienced historic slumps in 2020, one segment in the motor vehicle sector was even able to grow significantly in the crisis year of 2020: New registrations of two-wheelers rose significantly by no less than 13.4 percent to a total of 46,099 units. For comparison: Sales of cars fell by 24.5 percent in 2020 and those of trucks by 16.7 percent.
This trend is not unique to Austria: In Germany, despite the lockdown, over 17 percent more motorcycles were registered in 2020 than in 2019. For many, the motto was: Instead of taking a plane to Mallorca, it would be better to explore the local area on a two-wheeler.And in city traffic, people apparently switched from public transport to their own two-wheelers. The driver of this positive development in new registrations in the pandemic year of 2020 was light motorcycles and light scooters, which exploded year-on-year.
More motorcycles and a larger share of road traffic are now driving higher demand for tires. For example, Reifen Göggel, one of the largest motorcycle tire wholesalers in Europe, is experiencing continued growth in two-wheeler tires. The ability to deliver was increased because the inventory grew to 150,000 motorcycle tires with all the necessary accessories.

A new portal for motorcycle tires is intended to make it easier to find the right tires - with the manufacturer, vehicle, motorcycle and combination search! Over 16,000 release documents are available to customers. Versions for two-wheeler models have been available since 1929! After all, the motorcycle tire portal includes more than 1,000 profiles with over 2,500 different EANs.
There is a special treat for customers until the end of March 2021: 10 euros will be credited when you purchase 4 motorcycle tires. In addition, premium manufacturers are also supporting sales in spring: Industry partner Michelin, for example, would like to stimulate sales with a “Michelin Team Package” until the end of April 2021: If you order at least 4 promotional profiles, additional accessories are available, ranging from a Michelin Mann lamp to a softshell jacket. Continental is also participating in a campaign for its “Conti Scout” profile, valid until July 31, 2021: Scooter drivers will receive scooter weather protection when they purchase 4 tires.
