Marten defense in a practical test
Marten bites in the engine compartment can cause significant damage and result in high repair costs. The damage amounts are often significantly higher, especially in electric vehicles, where sensitive high-voltage cables can be affected. In general, the costs caused by martens have risen steadily in recent years and, according to GDV, reached a record high of 128 million euros in 2023 - an increase of 24 million euros within one year. To prevent this, modern marten repellent devices such as the self-sufficient M9700 from K&K combine both ultrasonic and high-voltage pulses with two-pole, fur-penetrating brushes to effectively drive away the animals, even in electric vehicles.
Practical experience
In the Auto Bild reader test, 24 readers subjected the device to a detailed practical test and reported on their experiences. The first impression of the M9700 already convinced the testers: “The product makes a very high-quality impression.” The installation of the device was also described by readers as uncomplicated. The installation was carried out by a specialist workshop, as recommended by K&K. With a lifting platform, specialist workshops were able to optimally protect the lower area of the engine compartment, which was particularly worthy of protection, with the marten defense system. With the detailed operating instructions and the included mounting material, installation was easy for new users. “Real feedback like this is the most valuable award for us,” says Nicole Schuster, Managing Director of K&K Marten Defense.
