Lucky Car invests in e-car sharing
After opening the 41st location in Austria in Vienna Hernals, Lucky Car is now expanding in a different direction. The car repair shop chain is joining the e-car sharing start-up Eloop. Around 200 Tesla vehicles are already in use for Eloop in Vienna and can be easily rented via an app for any length of time - from a few minutes to a month.
Mitar Kos, Managing Director of Lucky Car, is pleased about joining Eloop and is convinced of a long-term collaboration: “As a strategic partner, we can incorporate our Austria-wide network of vehicle workshops and our expertise, especially in the area of paint and body and tire business, into Eloop and thus support the start-up’s further growth.” The plans in this regard are ambitious. The Tesla fleet in Austria is expected to grow to 600 cars in the future, and expansion is also planned to include Germany. Leroy Hofer, CEO and co-founder of ELOOP, agrees with Kos: "With this collaboration, we want to increase our efficiency in the area of workshop visits and get our cars back on the road as quickly as possible after maintenance and service or in the event of repairs. Our goals require a strong workshop behind us, that's what Lucky Car can offer us."
The change in the car industry towards electric vehicles does not stop at Lucky Car. The automotive workshop chain is expanding more and more locations with the high-voltage workstations required to repair electric cars and offers apprentices the opportunity to do the necessary additional training after completing their apprenticeship - with a full-time salary. "The need for workshops for electric cars will grow steadily over the next few years. We recognized this early on and have retrofitted many of our branches accordingly. We now want to make this knowledge and skills available to Eloop's electric car fleet," says Mitar Kos. In addition, the entire Lucky Car headquarters has already converted its company cars to electric cars. Electric cars are also increasingly being used as replacement cars for customers.
