Timing chain problem on Stellantis

Stellantis is extending the special grace period for previous generations of its 1.5 BlueHDi diesel engines produced between October 2017 and January 2023 in connection with possible premature wear of the timing chain. Under this expanded arrangement, Stellantis will cover 100% of parts and labor costs for up to 10 years or 150,000 miles, provided certain conditions are met. Qualified repairs

This additional rule applies to qualified repairs performed between January 1, 2023 and June 30, 2025, provided that the vehicle maintenance and diagnostics have met the guidelines recommended by the relevant brand. In order to be entitled to the special service, the maintenance must have been carried out by a specialist automotive workshop in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. In the event of a problem, diagnosis and repair must be carried out via the authorized network. As part of this initiative, Stellantis is also making the Check+ certificate available to used car customers in the authorized Spoticar and Stellantis network. It informs customers that they benefit from the same special service as new car customers. A recall campaign will begin for vehicles that were produced with previous generations of 1.5 BlueHDi diesel engines between October 2017 and January 2023, which will be carried out in a staggered manner. Customers will receive a letter from the respective brand organization in a timely manner as soon as the vehicle is recalled.
