Obereder: The oil barrel as a source of income”
Oil is one of the most important yield components in your workshop and car dealership. Take a look at your key figures and you will quickly see that there is hardly any product group that can generate a higher profit per unit," explains Andreas Obereder. With good employees, the right arguments and sustainable sales activity, the oil barrel remains the best source of income. "That assumes that you can sell a quality product at good prices.
"But that also assumes that your brand is not offered at your oil supplier's gas station or in a quick-service chain with cheap offers for oil changes," emphasizes the lubricant expert. You should also make sure that the entire range of customers - including alternatives (e.g. for the fleet) - can be covered and that even so-called "side issues" such as liters taken with you or unpleasant phenomena - keyword "motor oil that you bring with you" - are actively dealt with. This requires an oil supplier who takes the topics of training, education and active sales support seriously. "You need flesh-and-blood people who can give your employees real help. Preferably with videos or online components as support, but primarily people on site who can answer questions. But you also have to make a contribution: motivate your team to actively participate in such training, to practice with real questions from practice and to immediately implement what you have learned," explains Ober eder.
