Nokian proves sustainability

Nokian was also selected for the even more strictly limited Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe, making it one of the most sustainable companies in the world. The tire manufacturer scored a full 100 points in the selection criteria of product quality & recall processing, environmental reporting, environmental strategy & management and social reporting. “Our global team works tirelessly to achieve these goals and to realize continued progress in sustainability,” says President and CEO Jukka Moisio. In just six years, Nokian Tires has been able to reduce greenhouse gases caused by production by 44 percent. The rolling resistance of Nokian Tires tires has reduced on average by eight percent, which is equivalent to the annual exhaust emissions of 65,000 vehicles. The assessment of the companies this year is based on their performance in 2019. Each year only leading companies in the respective industry are included in the indices.
