Ford and Castrol are jointly developing two new lubricant formulations for Ford's dealer network in Austria.

Castrol is expanding its long-term partnership with the Ford Motor Company in Austria. A newly developed range of Ford-Castrol Magnatec lubricants is launched. The range includes two new formulations with Dualock technology and is designed to provide uninterrupted protection every time you start. Ford-Castrol Magnatec is available exclusively through Ford dealers and is the only engine oil recommended by Ford. The renewed range features new packaging branding to increase awareness among Austrian Ford customers.
Dualock is available in 0W-30 D and 5W-20 E formulations. It is designed to protect engines from damage caused by constant start-stop driving.
Up to 75 percent of engine wear occurs during warm-up. With the ever-increasing number of vehicles on the road, drivers may currently have to start and stop up to 18,000 times per year. The Castrol Magnatec Dualock molecules adhere to important engine components and combine to form a protective shield. This is intended to reduce wear in the warm-up phase and in stop-and-go traffic by up to 50 percent.
