Goodyear presents new types of tires for SUV drivers and light commercial vehicles. With a decisive advantage.

Just in time for the upcoming tire change season, Goodyear is presenting a new summer SUV tire: the EfficientGrip 2 SUV. “SUVs represent a growing share of the European vehicle fleet,” says Piotr Nagalski, Director Marketing Goodyear Europe. The share of SUVs in total new car sales in Europe is forecast to rise to 43 percent by 2025, up from 37 percent in 2020. The two most important characteristics that SUV drivers expect from tires are excellent braking performance and grip in wet conditions. Therefore, the new EfficientGrip 2 SUV is intended to achieve higher mileage and high performance at the same time. Goodyear speaks of:

A competitive line-up of 52 new SKUs, covering sizes from 16-inch to 22-inch tires, will be launched between January 2021 and February 2022. “With additional mileage and a range of SKUs with high load indexes, the EfficientGrip 2 SUV tires are ideally suited to the needs of not only SUVs, but also electric vehicles,” says Nagalski.
New tire for light commercial vehicles
“The EfficientGrip Cargo 2 is a new summer tire that addresses the needs of consumers in the fast-growing light truck segment,” says Piotr Nagalski. Thanks to a new rubber compound, the tire's tread is said to be more resistant to high temperatures and harsh road conditions, resulting in a 38 percent longer overall tread lifecompared to its predecessor. A new traction resin also supports the deformation of the mixture during braking maneuvers on wet roads, resulting in greater braking efficiency and theBraking distance on wet roadscompared to the EfficientGrip Cargoshorten by 8 percentshould.
"Consumers are increasingly turning to e-commerce solutions and companies are adapting their supply chains and building last-mile delivery capabilities," continued Nagalski. "With equipment for 8 of the top 10 best-selling light trucks in the European market, Goodyear is well positioned to respond to this evolution. The introduction of this new summer product is an important addition to our comprehensive light truck offering." Goodyear's product portfolio for light trucks also includes the UltraGrip Cargo winter tire and the Vector 4Seasons Cargo all-season tire.
The EfficientGrip Cargo 2 has a competitive offering of 23 SKUs ranging from 14- to 17-inch tires, launching now through October 2021, all suitable for electric vehicles.
