“Especially as a lead processing company, we have a great responsibility towards people and nature,” emphasizes Andreas Bawart, Commercial Director of Banner. The family company is a founding member of the Environmental Forum for Starter Batteries (UFS) and relies on a closed production cycle from production to recycling as well as on constant improvement and avoidance of environmental pollution. The focus of the production process is the use of 98 percent recycled lead. The battery boxes are made from 80 percent recycled polypropylene, and since 2015 the entire electricity requirement has been used from renewable energy sources. 60 percent of the electricity used is used to charge the batteries. Thanks to innovative manufacturing processes, Banner batteries have a recycling rate of almost 100 percent.
