Lucky Car continues to grow

Regardless of the global energy crisis and national record inflation, Lucky Car was able to break the mark of 40 workshops throughout Austria in 2022 and was able to enjoy record internal company sales when the 32 million euro mark was exceeded for the first time. The recently opened new locations are located in Lower Austria - in Stockerau at Rudolf-Hirsch-Straße 3 and in Vösendorf at Schönbrunner Allee 18. In Switzerland, just under a year after opening the first workshop, Lucky Car continued its expansion with a second location in Urdorf, just outside Zurich. Mitar Kos, Managing Director of Lucky Car, is pleased with the rapid growth: “Given the current global economic situation, this is anything but self-evident.”

The three newly opened locations are new takeovers of vehicle repair shops - a business model that Lucky Car is increasingly using. Kos highlights the reasons for this: “This offers several advantages: the existing customer base does not have to look for a new workshop, the employees keep their jobs, and we can rely on their experience and qualifications.” Well-known faces appear as franchise partners at the new workshops. In Stockerau, Alexander Wanghofer and Martin Schwarz are responsible; they already perform successfully as a duo in Hagenbrunn. The new location in Vösendorf is headed by Zeljko Kos, who has already set up a successful Lucky Car business in Vienna's 3rd district, which, however, had to make way for a residential project. In Switzerland, as at the first location, Sascha Peschke acts as a franchise partner.

In addition to a sophisticated network of own and franchise branches, Mitar Kos also emphasizes an efficient way of working: “We rely on the lean management principle, so we focus on the areas of customer orientation and avoiding waste.” In Switzerland, the experiences from Austria are proving to be useful. Kos: "Switzerland has a comparable market to Austria. There are around five million cars on the roads in both countries, and the insurance system also has some similarities." In the long term, almost 30 workshops in Switzerland will have the Lucky Car outfit, and in Austria they want to build six to ten more locations in the coming year alone. "In the current times, we also have to plan a little more cautiously. We also need more strong franchise partners in order to be able to continue this growth," concludes Kos.
