Liqui Moly is becoming (a little bit) Austrian
The lubricants and additives producer from Ulm is setting up a subsidiary in Austria - not without reason.

Liqui Moly is becoming (a little bit) Austrian
Liqui Moly Austria GmbH started its work at the beginning of the year. Austria is Liqui Moly's oldest market alongside its home market of Germany. The brand has been established with us over decades and has grown continuously. However, subsidiaries are rather an exception at Liqui Moly. “We want to further improve the relationship with our customers in the important Austrian market,” says Managing Director Günter Hiermaier.
Traditionally, Liqui Moly works with independent importers for distribution in most countries. Austria has always held a special position because the Alpine republic is not assigned to exports, but is part of German sales, albeit with its own sales team. "This status has developed and proven itself over the years. The field service will also be retained with the subsidiary, which will make the connection to our customers even shorter," explains Günter Hiermaier. The new company will be based in Dornbirn in Voralberg. In addition to a more efficient and ecological supply of goods, the establishment of a subsidiary also brings with it optimizations in the processes. Hiermaier emphasizes: “What we still attach great importance to is the reliable support of our customers directly on site by the area manager they know – true to the motto: never change a winning team.”
Günter Hiermaier and the commercial director of Liqui Moly, Uli Weller, form the management of the new subsidiary. As the future sole managing director of Liqui Moly GmbH - Ernst Prost is retiring on February 22, 2022 - the second managing director to date, Günter Hiermaier, will be assigned parts of his previous tasks. This includes responsibility for sales in Germany and Austria. Günther Wengert will be responsible for overall sales management for these two countries in the future. As a former national sales manager for large-scale customers with two decades of service at the company, he has internalized the company's values. Thomas Paukert will report to Günther Wengert in his role as Sales Manager Austria.
