Goodyear: Trade Congress 2017

Josef Liebhart, Retail Manager Austria, with the Austrian partners of the Retail Marketing Initiative (HMI) and Wolfgang Stummer, Director Sales Consumer & General Manager Austria with other Goodyear customers were represented at the event. “It was a good opportunity to talk to dealers and managers from Germany and Switzerland and to make new contacts with over 80 suppliers from the aftermarket at the supplier fair that was taking place at the same time,” says Liebhart.
ACT TOGETHER – GROW TOGETHER
The premise of the trade congress was to understand tire retailers and their challenges even better and at the same time show them their skills and strengths as partners. Under the motto “Act together – grow together”, around 800 tire dealers from Germany, Austria and Switzerland met, exchanged ideas and were presented with high-quality products and system expertise. Also present for the first time was CEO and President Richard Kramer, who opened the conference part with his speech and demonstrated how high the company's innovative strength is together with its partners in the DACH region. In his speech, he highlighted several factors that make up the new mobility ecosystem: technology, connectivity and consumers' growing desire for simplicity, convenience and speed. But he also emphasized that even in times of profound change, tires and dealers will continue to play an essential role.
INNOVATION, GROWTH, PARTNERSHIP
Guest speaker and mobility expert Lukas Neckermann complemented the topic of innovation and spoke about the consequences of urbanization, which also creates the need for innovations in the tire industry. Jürgen Titz, Group Managing Director DACH, focused on the topic of partnership in an interview with Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, CEO of FC Bayern Munich. The managing director of Goodyear Dunlop trading systems, Goran Zubanovic, gave the dealers present a lot of food for thought on the subject of entrepreneurship and Jürgen Titz finally defined the joint growth potential.
Workshops on the topics of e-commerce, economic potential in car service, the tiresoft 3 merchandise management system and customer data management gave the visiting dealers additional ideas for their business. “At the congress it became clear to everyone once again how large the network we are in is and what strengths this creates for the entire cooperation,” sums up Liebhart.
