Install Windows-based software, plug in the VCI, and you can begin diagnosing on the notebook or tablet. The software solution for professional diagnostics from Hella Gutmann communicates with vehicle systems via CAN bus, CAN FD and DoIP. Since its market launch 13 years ago, mega macs PC has easily taken on the main role in multi-brand vehicle diagnostics or, in addition to traditional diagnostic devices, opened up additional capacity for additional workstations. Hella Gutmann is now launching the second generation of the Windows-based diagnostic solution as mega macs PC SE (Second Edition) with new options adapted to current needs. This means, among other things, that the diagnosis of vehicles is also possible with new, ultra-fast data transmission protocols such as DoIP and CAN-FD.

The basic principle of the Windows-based diagnostic solution remains the same: existing hardware such as a PC, notebook or tablet can be used for operation and data processing and can even be replaced later. However, the Hella Gutmann software, which is essential for multi-brand diagnostics, and the HG-VCI (Vehicle Communication Interface) for plugging into the vehicle OBD socket are included in the delivery of the mega macs PC SE. Like the choice of device, the software configuration and license scope can also be designed flexibly. Depending on the needs of a workshop, a body and a glass version are also available as an alternative to the full version. The latter have been specially tailored to the usual service and repair scope of body or glass specialists and are more cost-effective than the standard version.

The full version includes reading and deleting error codes, clearly displaying important parameters, checking the functionality of control devices, adjusting vehicle functions, basic settings and calibrations, and easily carrying out maintenance work and service resets. What all software versions have in common is the high level of vehicle coverage typical of mega macs - right up to the latest vehicle models, whose on-board networks are designed for ultra-fast data transfer via DoIP and CAN-FD. In addition, the mega macs PC SE with an active update license also offers the Cyber ​​Security Management (CSM) function, which enables basic settings and service work to be carried out quickly, even on vehicles with access barriers (security gateways). Access to technical data and background information, component aids, inspection data, timing belt data and circuit diagrams as well as the use of technical support from the Hella Gutmann Service Center are license-dependent.
