Conti strengthens its position in southern and eastern Europe

A new national distribution center for tires is currently being built in Bratislava (Slovakia) on behalf of Continental. It is scheduled to go into operation in December and deliver passenger car, commercial vehicle and two-wheeler tires to customers from a total of 12 countries in Eastern and Southeastern Europe. The new building will accommodate more than 500,000 tires on an area of around 56,500 square meters. “By merging inventories at our new location, we will be able to offer our customers in the region even greater availability and market coverage - with better ordering and delivery options,” explains Dennis Bellmund, responsible for the supply chain area of the EMEA tire replacement business.

Continental chose the location in Bernolakovo near Bratislava because it is directly on the motorway and therefore very convenient for transport. Up to 60 trucks can be loaded and unloaded there every day in order to deliver Conti tires as quickly as possible. Up to 16,000 tires from all Continental product groups are handled every day. “With the new tire warehouse, we want to further strengthen our trading partners and our market position in the regions we supply and be even more reliable and competitive,” says Bellmund.
