R-M celebrates 100th birthday
R-M customers from Austria and importers from Central Europe were invited to the Panzerhalle in Salzburg at the beginning of October to celebrate the paint brand's 100th birthday.

Thanks to generous loans from the Slovenian importer Janez Potocnik, there were numerous historical exhibits such as the “Tintometer” to marvel at in the anniversary exhibition. Around the middle of the 20th century, paints were still mixed according to volume; the exact formulas were later saved on microfiche and could be displayed on the screen via “Tintovision”. Further highlights included a motorcycle simulator and Georg Raffetseder's live act. The painter from Salzburg has made a name for himself in the scene as a custom painter and has already won several awards. Norbert Grimmeisen, who has headed sales for the R-M brand in Austria since 2007, was in a celebratory mood, as was the recently appointed managing director of BASF Coatings Services GmbH, Christoph Rieser. “At our event we not only traveled back in time, but also looked into the future,” says Rieser. “We are constantly working on optimizing the processes in the workshops and thus saving time and costs.”
