Precise color analysis
GLASURIT supports paint shops with its new color measuring device Glasurit Ratio Scan 12/6, which accesses the world's largest color database Glasurit Color Online.

Precise color analysis

In order to further optimize measurement reliability and repair results, Glasurit has further developed its already established color measuring devices. Conclusion: The latest generation - Glasurit Ratio Scan 12/6 - scans the paint surface even more finely and ensures a faster and more comfortable workflow with intelligent links. Using a built-in digital camera, the user can search the repair area in real time for a scratch-free spot for the measurement and display it on the color touch display. Using a blue and a white LED, a total of twelve angles of light are measured on the painted surface and documented in six images. In this way, the color and texture of the color and effect pigments can be precisely analyzed and even challenging colors can be reliably determined.
OPTIMIZED WORK STEPS
“The measuring devices are linked to Glasurit’s Profit Manager Pro color and material management system; the results are transmitted wirelessly via the certified WiFi interface to the computer in the mixing room and compared with the Color online database,” explains Uwe Westerwelle, Head of Glasurit Digital Color Solutions. In addition to checking millions of measured values within the color database, a search and correction algorithm patented by BASF converts the measurement results of the Glasurit Ratio Scan 12/6 into repair solutions. Not only are the best hits displayed, the algorithms also provide correction suggestions. Color tone visualizations and spectral curves show how well the proposed solutions match the measured color tones. The corresponding formulation can be mixed directly if necessary. A comprehensive range of services ensures the interaction between the color measuring device and the color and material management system and continuously supplements the database with new measured values.
