ColorMatchic's innovative technology has already proven itself with selected customers in Europe. It is tailored to the water-based premium basecoat systems from Sikkens and Lesonal and is fully integrated into AkzoNobel's cloud-based Mixit color matching application. In this way, ColorMatchic prevents the risk of mixing errors and the associated time, cost and material losses, thereby supporting a more sustainable process. In addition, the painter can easily mix additional colors and continue working in the booth during the fully automatic mixing process. Small dosage quantities (up to 40 ml) are also possible. This reduces the likelihood of excess paint having to be disposed of unnecessarily. Dosing accuracy is extremely high thanks to the dosing mechanism, which is accurate up to a third of a drop of water (0.015 ml). It is also easily and accurately reproducible when additional amounts of paint are required for the same job.
ColorMatchic blends using a fully integrated process. The painter first measures the color using Automatchic Vision, the spectrophotometer from AkzoNobel. The measurement is then synchronized with the cloud-based Mixit application. The software then finds the most suitable color recipe, the painter selects it and presses “mix”. ColorMatchic then automatically creates the formula-based mix, which can be processed in just five minutes. Ignacio Román Navarro, Regional Commercial Director Vehicle Refinishes EMEA, explains: “ColorMatchic is part of our strategy to expand our portfolio with innovative technology solutions that help our customers achieve the three benefits of increased efficiency, improved sustainability and maximized profits.”
