In 2016, Emmanuel Cagnier founded his paint factory in a rented building in Niederöblarn, and two years ago he moved to his new location in Irdning im Ennstal. It shares the colorful hall, which is visible from afar, in the industrial area on the outskirts of town with the brand-independent Strohmeier motor vehicle company. Mechanical and electronic defects are repaired on the left side of the building, bodywork and painting work on the right side. “This cooperation is ideal for my customers because it saves them having to travel if necessary and they get everything under one roof,” says Cagnier. The two partner companies are managed independently of each other. Cagnier employs four body shop technicians and painters, an apprentice and two office employees.
“We cover the entire spectrum of body repair and painting – from minor parking damage to major accident damage,” explains Cagnier. Glass repairs and window replacements are also part of his service offering. Cagnier's broad Styrian dialect hardly suggests that he was born and raised near Lyon in France. 14 years ago he moved to Austria with his mother, a native of Styria. Immediately after his master's examination, he decided to become self-employed. His “new base” in Irdning is a functional building with a friendly facade, behind which there is a 1000 m² hall with a workshop, office and warehouse. The paint booth is state-of-the-art, and in the paint mixing plant the “Standoblue” base coats from the Standox brand are carefully prepared for refinishing.
Around 1,000 to 1,500 orders are processed in the paint factory every year. Regular customers include the region's large car dealerships, but also small workshops and private car owners. To ensure that energy costs don't get out of hand, Emmanuel Cagnier uses the highly efficient Standox products Standocryl VOC-Performance-Pro and the Xtreme system for clear coating, which is characterized by extremely short drying times even at room temperature. After about 30 – 45 minutes, the clear coat on the vehicle will have dried at room temperature. If the cabin is heated to 45 degrees, drying only takes 10 – 15 minutes. “With the efficient Standox clear coats, I was able to reduce the gas costs for my cabin by half,” says Cagnier with satisfaction. He proves his trust in his paint partner Axalta by also using the Axalta accessories brand Audurra and the robust Raptor surface coating, also sold by Axalta, to paint pick-up truck beds.
