KLS Fachtage – the industry meeting 2024

The KLS specialist days have now established themselves every two years as the leading event for the body and painting industry in Austria. With 70 exhibitors from Austria, Germany and neighboring countries, the event at the exhibition center in Wieselburg offers practical demonstrations and innovative solutions, from windshield repairs to the latest painting processes and adhesive technologies.

The opening hours of the KLS specialist days are Thursday, September 26th from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a subsequent industry meeting and Friday, September 27th from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Lower Austrian state guild conference begins at 4:00 p.m. A special highlight are the four lecture blocks, each lasting a maximum of 1.5 hours and ending with the opportunity for inquiries or discussion, although discussions can also be continued in the lounge of the Federal Vehicle Technology Guild of the WKO.

Block 1 on Thursday, September 26th from 11:00 a.m

Body of the future: materials/connection technologies/use of energy resources

In this lecture block, two contributions deal with the current requirements for specialist companies in the area of repairing mixed installations in body construction. The use of different materials - in addition to steel - such as aluminum, plastic and carbon, creates new repair challenges. These also affect the joining techniques of the different materials, which are discussed in the article “Gluing instead of welding – the future in the body construction sector”. Furthermore, valuable information on an energy-efficient and resource-saving approach to repairs will be provided in the third contribution of the lecture block.

Block 2 on Thursday, September 26th from 4:00 p.m

Claims management – sustainability in claims settlement

Handling insurance claims for damage repairs and related questions are the daily bread and butter of body and paint shops. Repair costs due to high-tech components are becoming ever higher and continue to rise rapidly. Sustainable repair solutions enable higher utilization and thus a higher contribution margin at lower costs. Lecture block 2 will be correspondingly exciting, with Franz Ofer (Federal Guild of Automotive Technology) and Alexander Bayer (Insurance Association) taking part on the podium, among others.

Block 3 on Friday, September 27th from 10:00 a.m

Car of the future – future of mobility

In this block, three areas are highlighted: Vehicle information systems and the sensors installed in modern vehicles represent challenges when repairing vehicle damage. The article “Vehicle information systems/sensors & Co - effects on repair measures” deals with the effects on repair measures. The second article explains the current developments in car construction: The outer shell of vehicles is taking on more and more new functions - a current headlight is now both a design and information element with different functions - including new demands on repairs. The final part discusses the future of mobility in general, although it is clear that the question of the future development of electromobility will be a central point of discussion.

Block 4 on Friday, September 27th from 2:00 p.m

Vehicles with high-voltage components – challenges & requirements

In keeping with the current trend, the last block is about repairing hybrid and electric vehicles. The aspects and questions are diverse: Is my electric car workshop fit? Can the permanent establishment meet the legal requirements and what needs to be taken into account in this regard? Are my employees properly trained for the challenges? What requirements exist with regard to the safety of employees? For the first time, there will be a live recording for the “AUTOFUNK” podcast. Exciting information and discussions are guaranteed until the last hour of the KLS specialist days in Wieselburg.
