Craftsman bonus for motor vehicle companies
ChipsAway managing director Clemens Ayasch is calling for the craftsman bonus to be expanded in the interests of climate protection.

Craftsman bonus for motor vehicle companies
The Climate Protection Ministry's repair bonus for repairs of electrical and electronic devices has been available since April 2022, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs' tradesman bonus has been available since March 2024. At the same time, climate protection should be improved and the local economy strengthened. Clemens Ayasch, managing director of the contract-free vehicle repair shop chain ChipsAway, criticizes the sector restriction: "Unfortunately, both bonuses are only permitted for a selection of industries and services. A circumstance that excludes many industries, but which make a significant contribution to climate protection and the economy. Specifically, I mean the vehicle repair shops." There is a lot of potential in this industry in particular, as repair companies extend the service life of vehicles. In addition, repairs could save numerous new parts and thus long delivery routes from overseas, argues Ayasch.
“The expansion of both bonuses would make a significant contribution to environmental protection and prosperity, as repairs are usually cheaper than replacing parts or the entire vehicle,” says Clemens Ayasch. In his view, adapting and expanding the bonus systems would be a perfect win-win situation for the climate, economy and the stock markets of Austrians, who have suffered from sharp inflation in recent months. ChipsAway is a chain of contract-free vehicle repair shops with 28 locations. The company advertises professional and cost-effective repairs of paint damage, scratches and dents.
