Think bigger, build bigger
The Bathelt car dealership on the edge of Bad Aussee is an imposing presence in an otherwise lovely traditional town. Owner Walter Bathelt has deliberately built modern and sustainable buildings for the still open future.

Think bigger, build bigger
When Walter Bathelt greets you, you have to remember the late actor Mikael Nyqvist think – the visual similarity is amazing. The owner of the VW car dealership has created a truly impressive operation on 15,000 m²: modern, high glass showroom (“We should have built it even bigger”), a lavish covered parking lot in front of it. Behind the VW CI glass fronts there is a state-of-the-art workshop including a plumbing and paint shop.
25 employees have almost as many lifting platforms at their disposal. The workshop is spacious, tidy, heated in winter, cooled in summer.“I want my employees to be comfortable in every season”says Bathelt, who also runs a farm and a distillery and has built a few apartments in the immediate vicinity of the company. Five years ago the company was fundamentally rebuilt and modernized. Bathelt has invested an enormous sum in the car dealership - the successor is still open:"My daughter is an authorized representative in the company, my son is a mechanic. Whether they take over the company or not - neither would be a problem for me."says Bathelt very relaxed.
Good business
Striking: Despite the wide area, there is no echo. There was clever planning – and construction. The company is primarily the workshop supplier Kastner Partner of the car dealership. As part of the renovation, the modern and energy-efficient Blowtherm paint booth was purchased,“a good investment”, as Bathelt says. The same applies to the wheel alignment device in our own workshop hall and the tire washing machine.
Walter Bathelt and his new Kastner contact and area manager Gerald Stolz met at our report appointment. Nothing stands in the way of continued successful collaboration. And we are sure that Walter Bathelt still has big plans in store.
