Glasurit customers on a journey through time
The highlight of this year's ColorMotion annual event for Glasurit customers was a visit to the Hamburg workshop LESEBERG AUTOMOBIL GMBH. There were perfectly restored Mercedes-Benz vintage cars to marvel at.

Glasurit customers on a journey through time
Leseberg Automobil GmbH employs a total of over 200 people and specializes in the restoration of collector's items. The most expensive example is a Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabrio in gray-blue metallic from 1971; The perfectly restored piece of jewelry can be purchased for €575,000. Holger Kilb, authorized signatory at Leseberg, took a lot of time to answer the questions of his Austrian colleagues. Kilb has been loyal to the BASF paint brand Glasurit for almost 50 years. “The brand scores particularly well when it comes to service – if we need support, we get it straight away,” says Kilb. With its wide range of Classic Car Colors, Glasurit also has a color matching service specifically for classic cars. Because the exact color tone plays an important role in classic car restoration, both when painting in the original color and when repairing the original paint. It helps that over 130 years of automotive history, Glasurit has compiled the world's largest color database with 250,000 colors and 600,000 mixing formulas - young and vintage cars benefit from this equally.
BONUS FOR EMPLOYEES
The Austrian guests also showed interest in the sophisticated bonus system that Leseberg offers its employees. Based on the respective productivity, which is determined by the ratio of attendance to hours sold, each employee can receive a monthly bonus. “We plan a workshop visit at every annual event because our customers are interested in how the process works in other companies,” says Kerstin Jochinger, ColorMotion manager. Her conclusion: “One or two suggestions have already found their way into local companies.” The event's colorful supporting program included a Reeperbahn tour, a harbor tour and lunch in the famous Elbphilharmonie. Christoph Rieser, Managing Director of BASF Coatings in Eugendorf since August, took the opportunity to get to know the customers outside of everyday work. His conclusion: “I was impressed by what a close-knit team our ColorMotion network has.”
