Carglass: Eco-social commitment

As a senator, Galina Herzig will represent the car glass specialist Carglass in Austria's largest independent business organization. The Economic Senate is made up of personalities from business, science and society who are actively committed to doing business in the spirit of the eco-social market economy. According to Herzig, social commitment and environmentally conscious business are deeply anchored in the Carglass corporate culture. For example, the company supports children and young people in the townships of South Africa with the aid organization “Afrika Tikkun”. The topic of sustainability also plays a central role for the car glass expert: With the repair-first approach, Carglass reduces its own CO2 footprint by around 80 percent, because if a window can be repaired, it is not replaced. This reduces glass waste, conserves resources and reduces energy consumption.

Sustainable business

Hans Harrer, Chairman of the Senate of Economic Affairs, is pleased about Herzig's appointment as senator. "She combines economic success with social responsibility and ecological awareness. Her commitment to sustainability, social justice and the promotion of diversity is exemplary. And that's exactly what our country needs in times of change." Herzig: “This appointment also gives us the opportunity to focus even more closely on important issues such as the promotion of women in technical professions and leadership positions.”
