Generational changes and structural changes led to a new sales organization at AkzoNobel Coatings GmbH.

AkzoNobel repositioned

The core of the reorganization is the bundling of competencies in the four areas of direct sales, retail support, business development and technology to strengthen the market presence. With the entry of Stephan Makoru as technical salesperson for the Salzburg region, the structural change has now been completed and full sales support for Austria is ensured. “We are starting with a complete sales team whose composition has an extraordinary level of competence and dynamism,” says Daniel Kapeller, Country Sales Manager Vehicle Refinishes Austria at AkzoNobel.

A support team is now available for each sales region for technical and commercial support. As a team or tandem, they support the areas of Upper Austria, Lower Austria, Vienna, northern Burgenland and Salzburg in direct sales. The rest of Germany is supplied by specialist retail partners Mautner, ABW Lacksysteme, PROSOL Lacke, Mayr Fahrzeugbedarf, Jägert Lacke and ALS Autolackservice. "With around 40 field staff, we have one of the largest sales teams in Austria. This means that we are continuing to stick to our course of organic growth and are investing in a well-trained and motivated team. We have now managed to ensure this again after a long dry spell as a result of the generational change," says Daniel Kapeller. The direct sales employees (Vienna, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg) report to direct sales manager Matthias Schramm, who was previously responsible for Erwin Pfeiffer's area in Lower Austria. The sales team is completed and flanked by Peter Moser and Günter Schellander, who are responsible for the expansion and support of the Austria-wide trading structure and focus on Salcomix in the industrial business, as well as Manuel Winkler, who is responsible for the training and further education of customers and internal employees at the Elixhausen training center. Leading them all is Daniel Kapeller, authorized signatory and country sales manager. He was the youngest team member five years ago and is now one of the “old hands” in the team after the successful generational change.
