BMW X2: Almost an SUV
Feel: The paint that shimmers gold in the sun, the thick leather steering wheel (M equipment), the soft, elegantly crafted sports seats and the finely tuned interior trim make it immediately clear: you're sitting in the premium class here. The BMW X2 is a real crossover, a bit SUV, a bit compact car, a bit everything on four wheels. The workmanship is absolutely top-notch, and the operation in the interior is also fairly intuitive, as is typical for BMW. The huge, high-resolution display in the center of the console is a feast for the eyes, and the ergonomics are very good. You sit slightly higher in the X2, but not as high as in some other SUVs. For me, the X2 basically doesn't give off an SUV feeling; the overhangs and body shape are just too short and angular. I like that very much.
Drive: 190 powerful diesel horsepower drive the BMW X2. And they do it in a typical Bavarian way: sporty, direct, lively. The 8-speed automatic transmission helps immensely and always selects the gears appropriately and very gently. Unusual for BMW: the clearly noticeable diesel noise in the interior - whether stationary or in operation. Bearish in the start and precise and direct as we know from Bayern, he nails it like grandpa's tractor. Sorry, that's better. The rest of the driving experience fits the BMW image again: precise steering with a lot of feedback, a harmonious, not too stiff chassis make it fun to do. Consumption in the X2 is also primarily controlled by the right foot. With a discreetly sporty, quick driving style, we averaged just over six liters of diesel. In relation to the loading volume and comfort, this is a rock-solid, expected value.
Load: The 4.36 meter long BMW X2 swallows between 430 and 1355 liters and can carry a load of up to 590 kilograms. The Bavaria's curb weight is not small at around 1.6 tonnes.
Conclusion: When you think of the BMW The target group: Stylish drivers who like the SUV look and expect a normal compact car feeling and have an above-average wallet.
