VCÖ mobility award for electric truck use

According to VCÖ, the logistics company Gebrüder Weiss was awarded the VCÖ Mobility Prize Lower Austria because it replaced twelve diesel trucks with large electric trucks. This emission-free change is expected to save around 4,400 tons of CO₂ annually. The battery vehicles offer a range of up to 400 kilometers per day and are powered 100% by electricity from their own photovoltaic system. Three of the electric trucks are already in operation, and the rest of the fleet is expected to follow by the end of the year. The vehicles operate at locations such as Maria Lanzendorf and Pöchlarn, flanked by a newly built fast-charging infrastructure. The award was presented to Jürgen Bauer, member of the management team, at the awards ceremony.
