Tesla increases profits

A lot has been written and spoken about the rapid fall of Tesla shares in recent months. But regardless of this, the engines of the US pioneer are still running at full speed, as can be seen from a new infographic from Block-Builders.de. Tesla achieved a net profit of $12.6 billion in 2022 - an increase of around 128 percent compared to the previous year. In 2020, the electric vehicle manufacturer managed to slide into profitability for the first time in history.

Tesla shines last but not least when it comes to margins. As the infographic shows, the profit per vehicle sold at Tesla is 14,380 euros. For comparison: Volkswagen – a company that has made it its mission to stand up to Tesla in the field of electromobility – only makes a profit of 6,295 euros per vehicle. The US car company is in first place in a ranking of the world's most frequently sold electric vehicles (H1 2022) with the Tesla Model Y, in second place is also a Tesla, specifically the Model 3. Since the company wants to turn the price screw here soon, it is quite possible that sales will pick up speed again. Depending on the configuration chosen, Tesla intends to offer the Model 3 and Model Y between one and 17 percent cheaper in the future. The values apply to the German market. In the US market the range is between 6 and 20 percent.
