Mazda Motor Corporation sold 616,000 vehicles worldwide from April 1 to September 30, 2023, up 20 percent from the same period last year. Net sales of almost 2.32 trillion yen (15 billion euros) represent an increase of 41 percent compared to the same period last year. Sales and profits were boosted by larger model series such as the Mazda CX-60 in Europe and the Mazda CX-90 in North America. For this reason, the company has raised its sales forecast for the full fiscal year to almost 1.29 million units.

Europe is forecast to increase 20 percent to 193,000 units, making it the second largest region for Mazda worldwide. Net sales are expected to be 4.8 trillion yen (31.7 billion euros). Mazda also expects an operating profit of 250 billion yen (1.6 billion euros) and a net profit of 170.0 billion yen (1.1 million euros). In Europe, sales increased by 34 percent to 90,000 units in the six months. In Austria, sales figures rose to 3,375 units in this period, an increase of 32% compared to the same period last year. This means that the Japanese brand is growing significantly faster than the overall car market and achieves a market share of 2.8 percent in Austria, almost twice as high as in the rest of Europe.
