Among numerous other factors, the weather also influences the used car trade. Hailstones can cause unsightly dents and gusts of wind can blow objects onto the cars on display. But there is something else that comes into play when trading electric cars: the fluctuations in the air temperature in open areas. As we now know, the sensitive batteries react to both very high and very low temperatures. While at low temperatures (+10 degrees to minus temperatures) up to 50% less battery power is available, at high temperatures it can even be dangerous. The manufacturers' recommendations that it is better to park electric cars in a shady parking space or parking space in midsummer stem precisely from the “concern” that the batteries can lose a lot of power or even break at very high temperatures. That's why I've put together six important points that are important when storing electric cars:

These are all high-quality promotions that retailers can carry out at their own expense. That's why I strongly recommend creating a care protocol for every electric car in your fleet. This works best digitally. The individual measures are then briefly recorded there. This effort pays off when you sell. In this way, prospective buyers can be proven that the electric car was serviced and cared for from the time it was picked up until it was sold. This increases saleability. There is also a regular check of the service life, which as we know should not be more than 90 days. I think that most customers would rather choose a well-maintained and maintained electric car than a neglected electric car. Desirability increases when sales specifically use this argument in the sales conversation.

In order for the sale of an electric car to be successful, it is of course advisable to have one or two electric cars ready for test driving. Of course, the same applies to the care and maintenance of these demonstration vehicles as to the existing vehicles. And while we're talking about existing vehicles, I'd like to specifically mention the maintenance condition of all electric cars. It makes a bad impression if the condition of the vehicle still indicates that it belonged to the previous owner, or if dirt and dust inside are visible when you open the door. Signs of use are normal for used cars, but dust, dirt and leftovers from the previous owner are clearly an obstacle to sale. Technical care also includes the visual care of valuable cars. With this in mind, I wish you a successful first half of 2024.
