The love of cars
AutoScout24 showed how car dealers can prepare for the future in three roadshows.

The love of cars
Around 100 decision-makers from the automotive industry, including managing directors, sales managers and marketing managers, were guests at the pioneering event “AutoScout24 MotorRaum”, which took place in Vienna, Graz and Salzburg and will now take place annually. A program highlight was the appearance of cabaret artist Roland Düringer, who outed himself as a “dry carholic” and received thunderous applause for his humorous and extremely entertaining program. The series of events kicked off on October 4th in Vienna at wolke19 in the Ares Tower. Nikolaus Menches, Country Manager of AutoScout24 in Austria, emphasized the importance of the car, which will continue to exist in the future, not least due to the fact that 6 out of 10 Austrians in Austria still rely on their car in everyday life. Austrians not only need the car, they also love it. Having your own car is important to 80 percent.
However, car use and mobility as a whole are changing. "We have to adapt to this and act flexibly. The only constant is change," says Nikolaus Menches. The development of used car prices rose steadily from summer 2020 to March 2023. “Since then, prices have settled at a high level,” reported Alexander Vysek, Head of Sales at AutoScout24 and aktuellwagen.at. He also provided data insights on the most common offers and demand on the AutoScout24.at platform as well as details about what prospective buyers are primarily looking for on AutoScout24. As a treat, Vysek served up a selection of the most unusual advertisements on the platform.
Manfred Gansterer, marketing expert at Grundauf, explained what the changed conditions mean for the car trade and why it is best to act and think like a service provider in marketing. The AutoScout24 team with Stephanie Hansmann (Head of Customer Care) and Paul-Nikolaus Hausleitner (Media Sales Manager) also gave insights into customer service, various projects and the most important features of the platform. The conclusion and highlight of “AutoScout24 MotorRaum” was the appearance of the cabaret artist Roland Düringer. “I would like to thank him very much for his outstandingly entertaining description of his love for cars and the many amusing details that also made him a dry carholic,” said Nikolaus Menches.
