One thing first: the possession and the possibility of issuing blue test drive license plates are a privilege of professional motor vehicle companies that should not be underestimated. This should be handled accordingly carefully and in accordance with the law - for the benefit of all motor vehicle companies.

Potential buyers and customers are not to be viewed as service providers directly attributable to the holder of a test drive permit. Therefore, these people are only permitted to test drive under the conditions specified in
• § 45 Paragraph 1 Z 2 KFG – trips to transfer the vehicle by the buyer when picking up the vehicle from the seller –
as well as
• § 45 Paragraph 1 Z 4 KFG – the transfer of the vehicle with a maximum permissible total weight of not more than 3.5 tons to a prospective buyer for a period of up to a maximum of 72 hours, whereby interruptions in the journey are also permitted –
are described.

Any other type of test drive by a customer or other person not related to the holder of the test drive authorization can be viewed as improper use (!), which can subsequently lead to the loss of reliability (Section 45 Paragraph 3 Z 4 KFG) and thus the test drive license plate. If there are several test drive license plates in the company, these could also be revoked in the event of repeated misuse, as the loss of reliability affects the owner and thus all test drive license plates approved by him.
