Diagnostic crime unsolved
The case of the Land Rover Freelander, which regularly “falls on its face”, which was sent out in our last newsletter, has given us numerous valuable tips from local vehicle workshops. Thank you!

Diagnostic crime unsolved

First of all: We have a solution to the Freelander problem ( https://aadmin.velocore.at/kfz-wirtschaft/landrover-mit-mysterioesem-defekt-208107 ) received almost 20 competent and helpful tips from experienced automotive technicians from all over Austria and immediately forwarded them to the Vienna workshop of Radoslaw Hudzik and Peter Neumahr. Here are two examples: Workshop owner Christian Bauer from Willendorf in Lower Austria told us about a similar case that had also occupied him for a long time. As it turned out at the time, the rubber lamellas inside the boost pressure hoses had come loose and blocked the passage when the load was higher - a material defect that, according to Bauer, was not an isolated case. Peer Karasek from KFZ Karasek in Oberwaltersdorf reported a similar problem with a T4 2.5 TDI Syncro. It turned out that the vacuum connections of the VTG and throttle valve were connected incorrectly, which caused the symptoms described. If the boost pressure was above the TARGET, the engine went into emergency mode and had to be restarted.
Many thanks also to Norbert Fichtinger, Fritz Zarbl, Josef Friedl, Ulrich Wriessnegger, Angin Fatih, Andreas Fojtik, Alfred Grünstäudl, Manfred Frajuk, Daniel Holzinger, Sebastian Brugger, Klaus Reitbauer, Günter Zwanzinger and some anonymous tipsters for their competent advice. Our next newsletter will be sent out on January 13, 2022 and we hope to be able to report on the solution to the case then. Until then, the automotive industry team wishes you happy holidays and the best of health!
