250,000 euros for Ukraine

At the start of the war, the German lubricant manufacturer Liqui Moly froze its business in Russia and voluntarily gave up sales in one of its main markets. “It wasn’t even a question for us,” says Günter Hiermaier, describing the decision. "People always come before business. We want and must do our part to stop Putin and take away Russia's economic foundation," the managing director continued. This could only be done together; one person alone could not do much.

And so the people of Ulm also called on all their business partners to take part in a large-scale aid campaign by the organization HelpUkraine.Center. Around 1.7 million euros have been raised so far from all over the world and also from Ukraine itself. "Now we're adding another 250,000 euros on top of that. Considering the major economic restrictions that we're already taking on as a result of the war, that's an impressive sum," says Günter Hiermaier. Medical supplies and everything needed in the war zone are purchased and sent to Ukraine via the HelpUkraine.Center, which many international companies and organizations have joined.

In total, the company will forego around 50 million euros from its Russian business in 2022.
