Flexible mobility solutions can be an attractive alternative to classic fleets for companies and employees. The Austrian company Eloop offers such solutions as part of its electric car sharing in the Vienna area and the surrounding area. As part of a new cooperation with the global payment network Visa, cardholders of Visa business cards benefit from exclusive offers. "Big cities and traditional company fleets have one thing in common: there are a lot of cars, but most of them are only driven rarely. In terms of space, sustainability and costs, it is far more efficient to share a few cars. This is the basic idea of car sharing, and it is becoming increasingly popular with private individuals and companies alike," explains Philip Tropper, CSO of ELOOP.
If employers use the services of a car sharing provider to make their employees mobile for business trips, this is referred to as corporate car sharing. In practical application, this B2B segment of Eloop is no different from car sharing for private individuals. Both user groups access the same pool of vehicles that are available in a free-floating model - users can park their rental vehicle at any parking lot in the city, and this location then serves as the starting point for the next trip. Availability is checked using the Eloop app, which can also be used to locate and book vehicles. This gives companies without their own fleet access to a vehicle fleet and saves administrative work and travel costs. "As a global payment network, Visa is in a special position to be able to promote sustainable consumption and responsible behavior. We support private companies and transport operators worldwide in implementing sustainable mobility concepts through digital payment options," explains Stefanie Ahammer, head of Visa in Austria. “We are pleased to be providing decisive impetus for corporate e-car sharing as part of our cooperation with Eloop.”
