AVL increases road safety

Representatives of Austrian and international organizations and the companies AVL DiTest and AVL List have agreed on a forward-looking agreement. This declares safety in road traffic, taking technological change into account, to be a priority goal and sets two main focuses: the safe use of electric vehicles and the safe operation of advanced driver assistance systems that support autonomous driving. The agreement was signed by Yong Book Kwon, President of the Korean Road Safety Authority, Gerhard Müller, President of CITA, Gerald Lackner, Managing Director of AVL DiTest, Susanne Kaiser from the Road Safety Board, Maria Fleischer and Hatun Atasayar. The Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, represented by Karin Schranz, Gerald Hochmann from AVL List and Viktor Metz from TÜV SÜD were also present as guests.

The testing and diagnostics specialist AVL DiTest can draw on over 30 years of experience in vehicle testing and can also draw on a broad pool of AVL Group know-how in the areas of vehicle development, test benches and measurement sensors. Based on this knowledge, AVL DiTest has developed procedures for regular vehicle inspections that are used in workshops and testing organizations worldwide and thus make road traffic safer on a daily basis. AVL DiTest relies on intensive global exchange and collaboration with interest groups such as authorities, testing organizations, automobile associations and vehicle manufacturers in order to identify new developments at an early stage and incorporate them into the process of periodic vehicle inspections.
