Trade fair director Olaf Mußhoff presented the spectacular program of the world's leading trade fair for the automotive aftermarket.

Automechanisa 2024: First outlook
From September 10th to 14th, the Automechanika will take place in Frankfurt am Main this year. Trade fair director Olaf Mußhoff invited people to a press conference in Vienna beforehand, to which numerous interested parties from neighboring countries also traveled. “We not only want to create the ideal setting for presentations and business initiations, but also an atmosphere in which people feel comfortable,” promises Mußhoff. What's pleasing for him is that the industry is showing great interest; more than 4,000 exhibitors from over 80 countries have already registered. The major paint manufacturers from Axalta to PPG are also taking part again this year after staying away from Automechanika for the last 20 years.
The Frankfurt trade fair attracts visitors from all over the world with five focus areas: innovation, sustainability, transformation, education - training - employee recruitment and emotionalization. A special supporting program is also intended to appeal to young people who have not yet come into contact with the aftermarket industry. “We want to specifically address Generation Z, from whom the skilled workers of tomorrow will ultimately be recruited,” says trade fair director Mußhoff. Under the motto “Ambition”, e-gaming, e-sports, e-racing, entertainment, music and lifestyle shows will be on offer in Hall 3.1. Another Automechanisa premiere is also eagerly awaited: in Hall 12.1 there will be an exhibition of current electric vehicles, for which so far mainly Chinese manufacturers have registered. “We in no way want to compete with the established automobile exhibitions or interfere in trade policy,” Mußhoff makes clear. Rather, it is about creating trust between the new market participants and the established workshops - because Chinese electric cars will also have to be serviced and repaired in European workshops in the near future.
