Motor vehicle district meeting in Salzburg
The automotive industry representatives from the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce (WKS) are touring the state of Salzburg with a “roadshow”. Led by Josef Nußbaumer, chairman of the Salzburg state vehicle trade committee and guild master of the Salzburg automotive technicians, as well as Walter Aigner, they provide first-hand information to the vehicle businesses in all Salzburg regions about current projects, trends and developments at district get-togethers.
In 2024, the entire automotive industry will again face several challenges due to climate policy regulations and the ongoing effects of energy, inflation and interest rate policy. But topics such as the ongoing expansion of electromobility or new service offerings in the vehicle trade committee as well as explanations of warranty and contract law are also discussed at the regulars' table. In any case, the trade is looking forward to the new year with confidence and is preparing for the motor show at the end of March in the Salzburg exhibition center, where the entire range of drive types and models from many brands will be presented. "Especially due to the new challenges facing the vehicle trade, it is particularly important to provide our colleagues with advice and support and also to point out our broad support options. The traditional district get-togethers have become an important and proven platform for a close and trusting exchange of information and experiences with each other," says Josef Nußbaumer, chairman of the Salzburg State Committee for Vehicle Trade.
The guild of vehicle technicians was primarily dedicated to the comprehensive range of training and further education in all professional sectors, new surveys on non-wage labor costs and hourly rate calculations as well as mandatory changes to the § 57a Pickerl review. “Especially in times of a shortage of skilled workers, we are very proud of the fact that both the cooperation within the guild and the agreement with the state vocational school with director Alexandra Haitzmann are working excellently in the context of training and further education,” says guild master Walter Aigner, extremely pleased. After the start in Lungau (Tamsweg), a district get-together recently also took place in Tennengau (Bad Vigaun) and Flachgau (Eugendorf). Further motor vehicle get-togethers are planned in Pongau (St. Johann) and Pinzgau (Maishofen). With an annual sales volume of around nine billion euros, the automotive industry is one of the strongest economic sectors in the state of Salzburg. 1,743 motor vehicle businesses (986 motor vehicle dealers, 757 motor vehicle workshops) employ almost 6,800 people and train around 630 apprentices.
