TTTech makes cars cybersafe
The modern car offers numerous software functions for which the N4 Network Controller can serve as a central gateway. The control device enables, among other things, over-the-air software updates and offers all the requirements to ensure cybersecurity in accordance with the ISO standard 21434. "With the introduction of the N4, we are bringing the most modern technology into every vehicle, creating new opportunities for car manufacturers. They can now implement over-the-air updates and introduce subscription-based business models to serve their customers in an innovative and contemporary way," says Friedhelm Pickhard, CGO at TTTech Auto. “With this solution, we are enabling our customers to take the next step towards a software-defined vehicle.” Denis Gulde, Technical Product Manager at TTTech Auto, adds: “The availability of the control unit accelerates the vehicle development process and helps to save time and resources.”
Thanks to the high-end S32G network processor from NXP, multiple Ethernet, CAN (FD) and LIN interfaces as well as several gigabytes of flash memory, the N4 is a versatile control device that can serve multiple use cases at the same time: The device can function as a main computer in a hybrid or fully zonal architecture. It enables over-the-air software updates or subscription-based business models as a Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) update master. The TSN-capable N4 Network Controller enables the use of the full bandwidth via Ethernet with the necessary prioritization of critical communication. The starter kit will be available from July 2023.
