Schaeffler shows the flag in China

The electrification solutions from the traditional German supplier group range from control devices and power electronics to thermal management through to electric motors and highly integrated electric drive systems. At Auto Shanghai 2025, the company will also present body solutions that enable a safe, comfortable and intelligent driving experience. With its appearance at the trade fair, Schaeffler is simultaneously celebrating 30 years of development work in China and underscoring its long-term commitment to the Chinese market. Schaeffler will be presenting itself in Shanghai for the first time since merging with Vitesco Technologies on a 500 square meter exhibition stand. “We look forward to being able to show our customers at Auto Shanghai how the merger of Schaeffler and Vitesco Technologies has made us stronger and, above all, creates added value for our partners,” says Matthias Zink, Board Member for Powertrain & Chassis at Schaeffler AG. “With our diverse solutions for the powertrain and intelligent chassis technologies right through to the body, we are in a strong position to drive innovation, shape the future and become the leading motion technology company.”

Expanded offer

Electrification solutions have been an important and strategic business area at Schaeffler for many years. By integrating Vitesco Technologies' know-how in the areas of electronics and software, Schaeffler has expanded its competencies in electromobility. Customers not only benefit from the larger offering, but also from more cost-effective solutions achieved through synergies. "The future of mobility technology is electric. Electrification has led to an irreversible trend in the global automotive industry, especially in China. There, the market share of so-called 'new energy vehicles' is over 40 percent. And China continues to be the world leader in the implementation of electrification," explains Thomas Stierle, Board Member for E-Mobility at Schaeffler AG. “Our modular and scalable solutions can be precisely tailored to the diverse and constantly growing customer requirements.” The innovations on display include an expanded range of control devices, 800 V silicon carbide power modules, integrated thermal management systems, battery management systems, electric motors and highly integrated electric drives. Schaeffler is also showing a new transmission in a coaxial design with an integrated bevel gear differential, further reductions in weight and space, and an efficiency of up to 98.7 percent.

Fruitful cooperation

By merging with Vitesco Technologies, Schaeffler was able to further expand its know-how in the field of sensors and actuators. The range of “by-wire” products has been expanded, for example with the mechatronic rear axle steering system (RWS), the electro-hydraulic steering system (e2HPS) and the electromechanical 2-in-1 brake actuator for braking-by-wire applications. Schaeffler is also showing a variable damper system (VDS) and an active damper system (MDA). The VDS enables continuous damping adjustment for improved driving characteristics, the MDA (“movement deactivation”) actively adapts the chassis to the road conditions. Schaeffler will also be showcasing its new solutions for the vehicle body at the trade fair, such as door handle sensors and ultra-wideband sensors or the Advanced Sensor Cleaning System (ASCS), which is used to clean cameras and sensors in autonomous vehicles.
