Porsche is betting even more on the eFuel market

Porsche invests $75 million in HIF Global LLC. To do this, the sports car manufacturer is acquiring a long-term stake in HIF Global LLC, a holding company for internationally active project developers of eFuels production plants. Among other things, the company based in Santiago de Chile is building the “Haru Oni” eFuels pilot plant in Punta Arenas (Chile). Initiated by Porsche and implemented with partners such as Siemens Energy and ExxonMobil, the production of wind energy from hydrogen and CO is expected to begin there from mid-20222manufactured eFuels. These synthetic fuels enable almost CO2-neutral operation of combustion engines.

"eFuels make an important contribution to climate protection and complement our electromobility in a meaningful way. By investing in industrial eFuels production, Porsche is further expanding its commitment to sustainable mobility. In total, our investments in the development and provision of the innovative technology amount to over 100 million US dollars," says Barbara Frenkel, Board Member for Procurement at Porsche AG.
